More Than Baseball

Youth baseball is remembered through more than wins and losses. It is remembered through teammates, dugouts, road trips, coaches, parents, difficult moments and relationships carried long after the final out. The Oklahoma Braves page is designed as a permanent team archive—not a simple list of links.

Preserving the RecordThe photographs and film archive provide a visual history of the Oklahoma Braves and the experiences that later became part of the broader Baseball Heaven journey.

Primary-Source Game Records

2004 USSSA 13U World Series Box Scores

The surviving box-score scans provide a game-by-game primary-source record of the Oklahoma Braves' 2004 USSSA 13U World Series run in Canton, Michigan. Together, the supplied scans reproduce the 8–2 tournament record reflected in the USSSA season archive.

Eight Wins. Two Losses. Third Place.

The box scores document wins over Central Kansas, New Ulm, Livingston Michigan, the Old Ballgame Monarchs, the American Eagles, Florida Xtreme twice, and Novi Heat. The two losses came against Midland Michigan. Across the ten supplied games, Oklahoma scored 75 runs and allowed 57 — exactly matching the tournament totals in the surviving USSSA 2004 record.

Pitching Highlight

Rexton Hailey — 8–0 Shutout

Against Central Kansas, Hailey worked all five innings and allowed only three hits and one walk while keeping the Cardinals off the scoreboard.

Complete-Game Highlight

Jack Gray — 13 Strikeouts

Against the Old Ballgame Monarchs, Gray went seven innings, allowed three hits and two runs, and struck out 13 in a 7–2 Braves win.

Offensive Peak

16 Hits vs. Livingston

The Braves produced 16 hits in the 12–7 win over Livingston Michigan. Chad James went 3-for-4 and Josh Givens went 3-for-3 in the supplied box score.

Elimination-Round Win

Gray Goes Distance vs. Florida

In the 6–2 win over Florida Xtreme, Jack Gray threw seven innings, allowed seven hits and two runs, struck out 11, and also went 3-for-3 at the plate.

High-Scoring Win

10–9 over Florida Xtreme

The second Florida game produced 11 Oklahoma hits. Derek Hawkins and Dalton Hillard each collected three hits as the Braves advanced with a one-run victory.

One-Run Win

7–6 over Novi Heat

The Braves survived a late Novi push. Jack Gray collected three hits, and the Oklahoma offense scored seven runs on ten hits.

Series profile: the preserved box scores show that the 8–2 run was not built around one type of game. Oklahoma won a shutout, multiple low- and mid-scoring games, a 12-run offensive game, and two one-run games. The two losses both came against Midland Michigan, including the final 17–7 defeat that ended the run.
Why these scans matter: unlike summary-only historical listings, these original game sheets preserve line scores, batting lines, pitching lines, fielding notes, baserunning details, game times and opponent-by-opponent context. They provide a deeper documentary layer for reconstructing the 2004 Braves season.
