Youth Sports Transparency

Independent Voices. Informed Perspectives. Better Youth Sports.

A public forum for thoughtful discussion about the systems, decisions and people shaping youth sports.

Youth Sports Transparency is a public-facing publication for commentary, analysis and independent perspectives on the issues affecting athletes, families, coaches, officials, organizations, facilities and communities.

The purpose is not to require agreement. It is to create a place where difficult questions can be asked, competing perspectives can be considered, and ideas for improving youth sports can be discussed openly and responsibly.

The Purpose

Youth sports affect far more than the final score. They intersect with family finances, public infrastructure, volunteer service, private enterprise, governance, safety, economic development and community opportunity. Transparency gives the people participating in those systems a better opportunity to understand them—and to consider how they might be improved.

Ask Questions Examine practices, assumptions and systems without demanding predetermined conclusions.
Consider Perspectives Make room for coaches, parents, officials, administrators, researchers and community voices.
Encourage Solutions Move the conversation beyond criticism toward accountability, opportunity and constructive reform.
