What can historical USSSA tournament records tell families about the use of community athletic fields—and what important questions remain unanswered? Day 16 examines the record associated with Amy Coffman and Skiatook Sports Complex. The event history documents listed tournament and league activity while raising a practical reporting issue: treating a multi-week league calendar as consecutive paid-admission days can greatly overstate hypothetical gate receipts. The records are not a judgment about a director or a financial audit of the park.

Controlling source: This article independently recalculates the complete AIUSSSA - HVIOG 9-20-2026.csv division-level file. The September 20 director inventory is a reconciliation aid—not a substitute for the records. Publication status: prepared only; no WordPress post has been made.

What the September 20 records establish

2013–2021Nine documented USSSA season labels
49Distinct parent event IDs / USSSA event URLs
103Division-level rows
511Team-event-division entries
$77,933Calculated advertised gross entry fees
942Minimum-game equivalents
1,646Officiating-assignment equivalents
1Distinct labeled facility

All 103 rows are categorized baseball. The posted fee total is arithmetic derived from displayed division prices, not a cash ledger. The 511 entries are team participations across events, not necessarily 511 distinct teams. Listed minimum games and officiating assignments are not verified game completions or unique human umpires.

The original CSV has 49 distinct event-home URLs and 103 distinct division-suffixed TournamentID values. Each event is counted once as one base tournament ID within a season; its divisions contribute separately to team and fee arithmetic. The older Amy Coffman research profile is useful context but contains the displayed division and sport-label inconsistencies explained above. The director directory lists historical ID 3797596; the official general USSSA director finder was found, but the specific current individual director page could not be confirmed. No current appointment is claimed.

All nine consecutive USSSA season labels 2013–2021 appear in the source. The largest posted-fee season is 2014 at $19,875. This historical coverage does not establish a full career span, present occupation, actual days worked or event completion.

Skiatook Sports Complex — one venue, two public street-address representations

Deed / assessor / historic reservation fileNot supplied or independently retrievedParcel boundaries, city ownership interest, county GIS and event permits remain unverified
Address discrepancy — do not silently choose one. The source and local sports club list 3020 W 133rd St North; the City lists 2907 133rd Street North. These may refer to different access points, but that explanation is not verified. In the county dashboard, the sole source venue is corroborated and the $77,933 is carried once under the source’s Osage County label; assessor-backed parcel/county verification remains open.

The City describes the facility as a sports complex serving youth baseball/softball, soccer and football. Its presence in event records does not establish a municipal lease, private operator, concession rights, rental deposits or where entry fees ultimately went. There are no additional named venues in the Amy Coffman rows, so no multi-site allocation or per-facility multiplication is warranted.

Why league calendars must not become invented admission receipts

The source marks 16 division rows in seven events with Stature = League. They contain 69 team entries and $3,895 in displayed gross-fee arithmetic. Another important view: 12 rows across five events display a $0 listed entry fee, while recording 42 team entries. A zero on USSSA does not prove that families paid nothing to any other organization.

League calendar recordTeam entriesSource modeled daysSource gate calculation (NOT RECEIPTS)

2014 Skiatook 8U League123312 × 33 × 20 × $5 = $39,600
2015 Skiatook League8328 × 32 × 20 × $5 = $25,600
Three illustrated records28Varies$88,400 modeled total — actual admissions unknown
Critical distinction: A league calendar spanning 29, 32 or 33 modeled days does not prove an admission fee was collected on each day. The three examples alone contribute $88,400 of an overall $191,700 hypothetical full-calendar source gate. The study does not assert that a director, club or city collected those sums. Some one-team records also cannot independently verify that guaranteed games were completed.

USSSA director finder, event records and actual pool/bracket evidence

  • USSSA Find Individual Director — live general director lookup; no verified Amy-specific official profile deep link.
  • 2013 Skiatook Mothers Day Tournament official USSSA results — page credits Amy Coffman as results provider.
  • May 3, 2014 Skiatook Wood Bat Tourney official USSSA results — page credits Amy Coffman and shows game results.
  • May 3, 2014 official pool schedule and official bracket — score/field/time evidence; specific age division.

The contemporary `usssa.com/baseball/event_home/?eventID=...` links carried in the 49-event dataset were checked on October 27, 2026 and did not independently render through the research browser. All are retained accurately in the ledger as historical source locators. The separate independently readable USSSA results use different older tournament IDs and must not be treated as additional events. A schedule can help corroborate competition, but does not verify financial receipts.

Financial transparency — explicit alternative models, not actual income

POSTED ENTRY FEE GROSS = Σ (each division’s team entries × listed unit fee) = $77,933

Shared admissions assumptions: 20 paying spectators per team-entry-day; $5 blended daily admission price; source event days if using the full-calendar scenario; one/two-day sensitivity caps where shown. These are researcher calculations and the source’s predefined fans/fee inputs, not a survey, ticket count or actual deposit.

GATE = Σ(team entries × hypothetical charged event days × 20 × $5)

Shared concessions assumptions: hypothetical concession gross = gate × 50%; assumed concession operating-cost allowance = 80% of gross concessions; hypothetical concession net proceeds = 20% of gross concessions, or 10% of modeled gate. There are no verified vendor sales reports or cost receipts.

NET CONCESSIONS = (GATE × 0.50) − (GATE × 0.50 × 0.80) = GATE × 0.10
Alternative (mutually exclusive)Team-entry-daysModeled gateHypothetical concessions grossAssumed concession costsHypothetical net concession proceeds
Source full-calendar illustration1,917$191,700$95,850$76,680$19,170
All listings, two-day cap975$97,500$48,750$39,000$9,750
Non-league only, full calendar893$89,300$44,650$35,720$8,930
Non-league, two-day cap837$83,700$41,850$33,480$8,370
Non-league, one-day442$44,200$22,100$17,680$4,420

Worked alternative: removing all seven league-classified events retains 42 event IDs, 87 division rows and 442 team entries. Using a maximum of two source admission days per row produces 837 team-entry-days, not 884, because some listings are only one day. The admission model is 837 × 20 × $5 = $83,700. Concessions gross = $41,850; hypothetical costs = $33,480; illustrative net concession proceeds = $8,370. Each model replaces, rather than adds to, every other model.

Research ledger vs. reported finances: The source itself computes $191,700 in TotalEventGate, $95,850 in TotalEventConcession, and a field named TotalEventNet of $290,858. That last formula is $77,933 posted fees + $191,700 modeled gate + $95,850 modeled gross concessions − $65,840 modeled official fees − $8,785 modeled sanction fees = $290,858. It is not audited net income, and omits many potential venue, labor, equipment, insurance, fee-processing and other costs. No figure in this analysis establishes earnings by Amy Coffman, a sports club or a city.

Questions for public-facility accountability

  • Who managed the complex reservation calendar for these dates, and under which municipal or club authority?
  • Are the historical field-use applications, permits, fee schedules, leases and proof of insurance available?
  • Which entity, if any, collected team entry payments, admissions or concessions, and how did actual bank-deposit records reconcile?
  • What rentals, reimbursements, staff costs, field-lighting, repair, sanitation and equipment expenses were recorded for these events?
  • Do county GIS and municipal records explain the 2907 versus 3020 W 133rd Street North descriptions and verify the primary park parcel?
  • Which days within extended league spans involved actual games, and on which days, if any, were admission fees charged?
  • Were any posted events cancelled, refunded, combined or rescheduled—and how were those adjustments documented?
  • What safeguards preserved affordable local league play, volunteer participation and taxpayer access when fields were reserved for outside events?
